In 2008, the founder and community volunteers introduced UNITY of NC INC to the Cumberland County Area and began its initiatives by partnering with Lafayette Ford to "Jump Start" Education in North Carolina. The organization started its initiatives by hosting an event and school supply drive called "Fill That Truck" at a local Wal-Mart in the Fayetteville North Carolina Region. Ford Dealership donated two customized F150 pick up trucks to U.N.I.T.Y. of NC Inc for the day. The mission for the day: to fill the trucks with food, backpacks and school supplies to give away to youth & families in various communities. What a great success! Special thanks to the dealership, radio stations, community members and volunteers. Because of your generosity our mission was accomplished!
The organization hosted its first annual "Jump Start" festival and school supply give-away in Cumberland County which is located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in order to obtain supplies to give to communities in need. The Organization has a motto that "Giving is Living" so during the "Fill That Truck" school supply
drive, we collect items 
as well as give away goodies to those who choose to donate during that day. With the support of numerous volunteers and contributors, in 2008 UNITY of NC Inc was able host our first annual Jump Start Festival and give-away over 500 Back Packs filled with school supplies as well as about 500 bags filled with supplies for students ranging from Pre-K to College. From this very successful endeavor, the organization has continued its initiatives and in January 2010 has opened its Jump Start Education Closet-Cumberland County. We are available to provide school supplies to youth and families in this area throughout the entire school year, based on our set criteria and supplies.
