| Meet the Founder.jpg) Valisha J.Kelly is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina; which is where she is obtained her basic educational studies within Cumberland County Schools. She attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she majored in Human Development Family Studies. Her transition began in the early 2000's as God redirected her path toward Charlotte, North Carolina. There, she continued to pursue her educational studies and coursework at the University of Phoenix with a concentration in Human Services Management. To fulfill her calling to serve as an advocate for youth, women and families, Valisha eagerly began to take her rightful position and became involved with several ministries in her church, the local schools and other community organizations. Valisha Kelly better known as "Ms.V", has an earnest passion to see the lives of families, youth & women transformed, restored and renewed around the world. This enthusiasm has led to the establishment of U.N.I.T.Y. of NC Inc.- Community Center for Youth & Family Development: Initially operating as an organization providing services for youth and families through partnerships and other community endeavors, with high expectations of expansion. Valisha states, "I often share my testimony informally and formally, encouraging women, youth and families, by way of mentoring, devotionals, blogs, speaking and singing, by being or what ever I am able to put my hands to. I believe in sharing my life, not for pity, but as a testimony of how you can have a life of unpredictable interruptions, distractions and set backs. However, when you change your perception of LIFE, and Keep your focus on God, you will find that it is or was not a set back, but a set up for God to be glorified. God only wants to be glorified through you. Just let Him perfect those things concerning you. It's not even about us, it's about what God wants to do through us. Never let your past or anyone define or dictate who they think you should be. People will try to confine you to a box of what they see you as externally. Don't let them, don't let them. And yes, with God on your side, supportive relationships, confidence in who God says that you are, the purpose that God has qualified you for and has called you to fulfill, and all of life's obstacles, you can still make a powerful difference!" On August 23, 2008 , Valisha was honored at the Annual SisterSpeak Luncheon, which was held in Charlotte, North Carolina. She among five other African American Women were named the 2008 North Carolina Unsung Hero Honorees by Ebony Magazine, Pine-Sol, The Clorox Corporation and Johnson Publishing Company. The award was given to salute African American women who are making a powerful difference in their communities. She is featured in the "Subscribers Only" 2009 Barack Obama Collectors Edition of the EBONY Magazine. Valisha is a strong advocate for not only families and youth, but all those who would dare to believe in themselves and their dreams. Let's say she's a natural motivator and she has a story or two to share. She understands that from the least to the greatest of these, everyone can make a difference. Never discounting that life can happen to the best of the best, but she states, " Don't let life get the best of you. Have faith, stay focused and keep it moving. With these things in place and a sure foundation, there are no limits only REAL possibilities." She is a living example that your persistence, determination, a positive attitude, passion and compassion will have its reward in due season: Keep Striving... "Just don't give up" A couple of her favorite quotes come straight from the bible, " Your gifts will make room for you and place you before great men." Proverbs 18:16. when you “Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God that in due time He may exalt you.”(AMP) I Peter 5:6 She believes in utilizing the gifts and the talents that she has been graciously given, not to exalt herself, but to glorify God and to make a difference in the lives of those around her. Valisha understands that change is inevitable and when you're aiming to make another person's life better, God will make that happen for you! Valisha enjoys smiling, reading, listening, writing, speaking, singing, and just being creative. She loves laughter, having lots of fun and spending time with those who matter most to her. With the continued support from family, friends, communities, businesses and organizations, Valisha continues to take back our communities by Unveiling the Newly Inspired & Talented Youth and Families of North Carolina through U.N.I.T.Y. She moves forward with this ending quote: "Just Keep Loving, Keep Lifting and Keep Moving."~ V.J.Kelly
